We have patented various release systems, based on a sequential release ofcartridges.
The mechanism gently puffs the mosquitoes towards the exit point, while either the cartridges or release mechanism are moving in sync to coordinate the release operation.
The modular approach enables the adjustment of the storage compartment to different sizes of vehicles.
We have developed both a non-cooled system for the release of up to about 1 million mosquitoes up to about 10 million mosquitoes per trip with a cooled system, which is required to ensure the mosquitoes are not moving.

Conveying module
Experienced with the most complex task of releasing from aircraft, we have successfully patented various release mechanisms.
As mosquitoes tend to clump if the temperature is not low enough, we combine a conveying element with a release area, ensuring cold mosquitoes within the cartridge are not clumping.
Drone cartridges can accommodate up to 100,000 mosquitoes per flight
Sequential release from tubes
Similarly with ground release, the best way to ensure each batch of released mosquitoes are independent of the other, and not clumping, is utilizing the sequential release approach.
Different parameters, even such as the required internal height of the tubes were investigated, bringing the design towards optimized configuration
Sequential release is utilized either by moving the cartridges, or moving the release mechanism in between the cartridges.
Senecio IP covers multiple options for utilizing any of these approaches, as the balance is between the throughput, capacity and death rate
In the hive layout design example above, some 100 different cells with a capacity beyond 100,000 per flight are visible, while each release is completely independent of the other, ensuring the mosquitoes do not clump and optimizes the overall survival rate.

Mosquitoes are very fragile. We have designed a unique release pod which provides a safe environment for the released insects.
During our work, we have performed detailed aeronautic investigations to optimize our design, supporting an optimal air flow at the exit of our POD.
We have proved our POD works through multiple flight tests, using a Beechcraft King Air A90 model, flying at over 150 miles per hour, providing the ability for quick transportation of mosquitoes, and a very large coverage area
A meaningful sample of aerially released mosquitoes were captured on ground, and their survive rate was compared to control groups of non-released mosquitoes. They were almost identical
The aerial release solution can accommodate as many as 10,000,000 mosquitoes per trip, making it an attractive alternative for covering large areas.
